Facility Overview
Whether stationed here, retired, family member or just passing through the vast wilderness of Alaska, the Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) staff will help you to experience Alaska to the fullest. If you are an avid outdoorsman, complete novice, or somewhere in between and would like to get out and get active in Alaska’s great outdoors, come see us at the ORC.

Rental Equipment
If you are going to be active in the outdoors and don’t want to buy all that expensive gear yourself, come and check out what the ORC has to offer. Visit with ORC’s knowledgeable staff and let them set you up with the equipment you need.

Scenic and Wildlife Tours
The ORC offers tours to places such as Denali State Park, the Arctic Circle, and Summer Solstice tours. The family will love being able to give their full attention to the Alaskan Outdoors while ORC staff take care of all the details. |
Outdoor Programs
Stay busy all summer and winter with programs presented through ORC. Cross-country skiing, snowmachining, fly fishing, hiking, backpacking, fresh water and deep sea fishing, float trips, and geocaching are just some of the programs ORC offers. |
Adventure Programs
Get active and your adrenaline pumping by joining the ORC on some of their adventure programs. ORC offers: Mountain biking, indoor and outdoor rock climbing, bouldering, back country skiing, white water rafting, Denali wilderness adventure and more. |
Safety Classes
Snowmachine and boaters safety classes are required prior to the renting of any snowmachine or watercraft. ORC offers these safety classes for you at $10 each. |
Custom Programs
Don’t see the program you are looking for? Contact the ORC staff with your ideas and let them build the custom trip you’ve always dreamed about. Whether it’s a float trip, backpacking or just a weekend in a remote cabin, the staff will do their best to accommodate your request. |
Ravens Roost
A secure storage area is offered for the safe-keeping of trailers, campers, boats and other off-road vehicles on a year-round basis.
