Overview of Facility
NAF (Non Appropriated Fund) Human Resources at Ft. Wainwright provides human resource programs to the Ft. Wainwright Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (Family and MWR) activities.  We seek to assist management in maintaining a workforce that is motivated and talented while meeting the needs of those looking for employment on Ft. Wainwright.

  • ASSEMENT QUESTIONNAIRE: Your qualifications and eligibility will be determined based on your selected responses to a series of questions.
  • SUPPORTING DOCUMENTS: To assist you in ensuring your application package is complete, the announcement will identify all required documents in “How To Apply”.
  • Depending on your status, some additional information may need to be submitted with your application:
    1. Are you a spouse? To use spousal preference the Spouse Preference Form must be submitted with your application with copy of PCS orders.
    2. Are you prior military? As a prior service military member you must submit a copy of your DD2144 page and orders with your application must be member copy 4.
    3. Are you a current or former NAF employee? A DA 3434 form must be included with your application.
    4. Official college transcripts are required for some jobs. It will state on the job listing if you need to submit it.

NAF Benefits include: Medical and Dental Plans, Retirement Plan, 401k Savings Plan, Life Insurance, Long Term Care Insurance, Paid Holidays, Sick Leave and Annual Leave.

Types of Employment
Regular Full Time (RFT) – Guaranteed 40 hours per week and entitled to benefits.
Regular Part Time (RPT) – Guaranteed 20 hours per week and entitled to benefits.
Flexible (Flex) – No guaranteed hours. Flexible positions are not entitled to benefits.

Spouse Preference
NAF offers spousal employment preference to spouses of active duty military members of the Armed Forces for positions NF-3 and below, all federal wage grade and child care positions.  In order to qualify, the marriage must have occurred prior to the service member’s relocation to the new duty station. Eligible spouses must complete the request form and provide a copy of their spouses PCS orders.
